Youth Ministry

Confirmation Class

Confirmation class runs for 2 or 3 years, starting in 6th or 7th grade, and is the way by which our youth learn what we believe as Lutherans and continue to develop their faith by participating more fully in the life of the congregation. The Confirmation class uses a different curriculum each year, focusing either on the Bible or on Luther’s Small Catechism as a way to understand what we believe. Requirements for the class include classwork, weekly worksheets, memory work, volunteering in the congregation, as well as a final project at the end of the year. In addition to other opportunities, our confirmation students assist in worship services as acolytes (lighting and extinguishing the altar candles) or in other ways for special services.
